Since 2003 I've been blessed to be on a journey, walking alongside talented women from around the world who seek to improve their lives through the crafts of their own hands. When I started my first women made, fair trade company - Global Girlfriend - from my basement I knew very little about business or design or importing. But as a social worker and a mom, I knew what women were capable of achieving when given access to opportunity. Slowly, together with you, we helped to create an amazing market for women artisans that has brought employment to thousands of women in over 30 countries and created millions in sales fairly traded goods. In late 2007 Global Girlfriend was purchased by GreaterGood where I continue to direct buying and marketing for Global Girlfriend products. I am so proud of this work, the supportive home Global Girlfriend has found at GreaterGood, and the scale of impact we have achieved.
