Dilworth/Uptown area. After the business changed hands several times, David Drummond and business partner Scott Pope bought Carolina Sporting Arms in 1998.
The Kingston Avenue location was small and hard to find, so in 2002, Carolina Sporting Arms moved into a new 10,000-square foot building on South Boulevard, just north of Sharon Road West. The new location allowed Drummond and Pope to expand their product offerings and grow the business into what it has become today. In 2010, Drummond bought out Pope’s interest and became sole owner of the company.
In October 2013, Carolina Sporting Arms opened their newest addition, a 5,000 square foot indoor shooting range connected to the rear of the retail store. The state-of-the-art range is the most advanced in the Charlotte area, offering the cleanest, most comfortable, and most convenient shooting experience available.
