The Backpacker opened its doors in 1974 as Baton Rouge's 1st outdoor shop with it's philosophy of selection, service and quality. With the opening of our second store in Lafayette, the Backpacker has grown into Louisiana's premier outfitter offering the largest selection of outdoor gear, with our "Price Match Guarantee".
